I have been working at Robin’s Nest for over 6 years where I have had the opportunity to work alongside children of all ages and I have grown as an Educator and Centre Director. I love watching and participating when children learn and discover new things, it really brightens your day when you see a child do something for the first time. During the time I have worked at Robin’s Nest, I have witnessed many children grow and develop from babies to starting Primary School and it is so comforting to know that I have made an impact on that child’s life. I am very passionate about children’s learning and different ways that children learn and develop. I like to create an environment where children are able to explore and develop at their own rate. I believe in allowing the children to be independent thinkers as this prepares them for life. I feel that it is very important to celebrate the big (and little) things so that children understand that they are appreciated and that they belong within many environments.
As a manager I feel that it is important that my team of staff feel supported and that they belong so that they are able to create the same atmosphere for the children and families. I believe that we should utilize staff knowledge, cultures, interests and skills to help educate each other and the children as well as providing the opportunity for professional development to further our knowledge. I have a high expectation for quality and care so that we are providing the best education and care for the children. I am always looking for ways that we can improve within the service and love to hear feedback from the children, staff and families so that everyone is included in our improvements.
Away from the Centre, I enjoy completing fun runs, obstacle courses, dirt bike riding, baking and spending time with my family and friends.
